Who's your favorite personal lines carrier?

I'm looking for a new personal lines insurance carrier that may or may not also offer a commercial contract. I have four really good preferred carriers, but it seems that they are all very similarly priced on most of my new business quotes. I need someone that wins on price more often. We can sell o...

Re: How to find agencies that have procedures?

I tell potential CSR's and Producers to call my agency employees/producers to find out how things are really done. Interviews are typically telling each other how awesome you are, but both parties need to do their due diligence to find out the real scoop.

Re: Insurance Accounting treads....

Many "bookkeeping" tasks are done by good csr's including invoicing and reconciliation. In the Phoenix area there are many bookkeeping independent contractors that charge $30-$40 per hour and they can come in to your office or work remotely. If you're talking about accountants (CPA), that'...

Re: Calif.: cargo coverage for small residential moving comp

Just placed one for a friend of mine. We went through State Farm on a BOP policy: Included $1MM liability / $20,000 limit for MTC, $500 deductible, $5,000 BPP. Premium is $1620, but that is in Missouri. One person/one auto exposure. New in business. Rating basis was payroll for the owner only - $45...

Re: Anybody using CloudAMS.com ? Agency Management System $3

They may have used AMS in their name to make people think. AMS can easily mean Agency Management Systems so it would probably be hard for AMS to do anything about it. If you think the topic is beat to death, why do you comment. You have a person looking for help and advice from the insurance communi...

I hope you're looking for Allstate. That's pretty much the one everyone is trying to get rid of.

Actually, it's not AMS. And what does "nuff said" even mean?

What is your definition of affordable? How many participants do you have? What are your gross sales? Have you had an attorney review your waiver form? How thoroughly do you monitor the waiver signature form? Are you absolutely certain there is no one participating without a signed waiver on file? Ar...

Re: Enterprise Ins Co

In 45 years you must have seen this happen many times. I've seen it in Arizona over and over. What exactly is your concern? If you have clients that are buying insurance to protect themselves you should have no problem beating out this unrated carrier. If you have clients buying only for price, do y...

Re: Leaving the nest

If you own your business and your carriers honor the agency change, you should be able to do an initial download of the accounts into your new system. At least from the carriers that download. In the old days, we just took the file and left. That can definitely be a problem now. AMS should also have...

Re: Special Events - $3 Million limit MO/NV

Don't they have a BOP where you can increase limits to $2m/$4m and add a $1m umbrella? This should cover a special event that they are sponsoring.

Re: Health Care is it worth it...

I wouldn't sell health care, maybe health insurance though. Sorry for the smart alec remark, but I think this is one of the problems with Obamacare. They keep calling it healthcare reform, but the only thing they changed is health insurance. They really need to reform HEALTH CARE. Health Insurance u...

I have seen finance companies offer payments on audits. It usually requires a personal guaranty of some sort and a promissory note. Call around.
