Re: Insured to replacment cost or use extended endorsment

call me Subject A 1. I am at $620,000 plus 25% not plus 50% --- call them Subject B 2. They are at $430,000 plus 50% --- I had this discussion on another forum. One agent comes on and says in a competitive situation he finds an insurance company that doesn't require a replacement cost estimator and ...

Insured to replacment cost or use extended endorsment

Ok let's get it out of the way -- a guaranteed replacement policy is as rare as a unicorn. The policy's today expect you to insure to replacement value and that is why they want the completed RCE. So I have a customer policy that has $623,000 on coverage A. The value was set my the MSB cost estimato...

AI request on form 126 - where do you

I was talking to some agent friends this week, they each work at a different agency. We started discussing completed Acord forms. One agent said when they request additional insured broad form endorsement they place the request for broad form AI in the other coverages, restrictions and/or endorsemen...

Waiver of Subrogation endorsment - not needed

To me this need to have the waiver of subrogation endorsement falls under the same category as people who want to be endorsed as additional insureds even though the insured has an AI Broad Form. I send a copy of the AI Broad Form, highlighting the area that reads, "any person or organization, o...

Re: General Cont wants AI on auto and Excess

The GC was shown a copy of the Umbrella where it says -- "If coverage provided to the additional insured is required by a contract or agreement, the most we will pay on behalf of the additional insured is the amount of insurance required by the contract, less any amounts payable by any "un...

Re: Apartment complex wants to be additional interest

No they can't do it because there is no insurable interest and I was just complaining. Complaining that the complex was requesting it in the first place. I was also putting it out there thinking maybe someone knew more than me and maybe there was a loophole. The COI? I thought I was clear when I sai...

Apartment complex wants to be additional interest

I went through this with this same apartment complex in 2008 for a tenants policy. They want to be named as Additional Interest," or "Certificate Holder" or "Additional Interested Party. I called and asked, are you asking to be additional insured, what exactly do you want? Respon...

Hey I used to live On Clayton and Haight. That is very close to Haight and Asbury. Get off my turff. :)

That was 30 years ago and I can't remember if Clayton was one or two streets from Asbury.

Re: Val Pak Advertising or Any other that worked for you

In 1984 I tried a go with ValPak advertising. Don't do it. You will most assuredly waste your money. Like others have said, discount pizza coupons, etc. may work in ValPak but not insurance advertising. If you are wanting to do brand or product advertising, I do not think ValPak will do it.

Re: Remember the give notice of late payment thread ..well

Looks like you read the same broker/agent magazine. The story is in my recent Agent/Broker mag. The people that keep supporting the positive idea that agents should continually provide a service of reminders, is not reading the courts remarks. I am not sure what part of the court statement about lim...

Re: Remember the give notice of late payment thread ..well

You should not walk away from the case thinking that the good Samaritan tenet will protect you. The protection was allowable because the elements of the claim did not show a constant reminder or expectation was established. If you start giving the notice on a constant reminder basis then expectation...

Re: The Number One Insurance Buyer Complaint

You hear hundreds of people saying that eh? You must know a lot of people that aren't on direct billing. :?: I work with hundreds of insurance buyers a year. A common complaint is, "I only hear from my agent when he sends a bill." Call your best clients. Tell them you were thinking about t...

Remember the give notice of late payment thread ..well

This case Filed 8/29/08 Boyer v. Wells CA2/2 addresses the issue and is a recent case. Take note that it mentions Good Samaritan but it also mentions that the reason it wasn't a triable issue was becasue of this "Evidence that once in 2001 Wells notified appellant about his late premium payment...
