Re: Premium Financing - Best Value?

Out of curiosity, why aren't his policies direct billed? Most High Net Worth client carriers have DB options.

If he has high net worth, does he/she not have enough to pay in full and save the finance charges? Most High Net worth clients can see the value in not financing their premiums.

Re: Mid term work comp change needed

Most work comp carriers can write a short term policy to have the expiration date match the insured's normal anniversary rating date. If they can't do that, it becomes a mess at audit with two different rates. You could ask them if they will write an annual policy and then cancel/re-write at normal ...

Re: construction scheduling and estimating

I would think you would be classified as a business consultant and rated as an office exposure. If you are EVER on jobsites, that changes everything. As far as general liability exposure you don't have much more than any other consultants office. If you want Professional/E&O insurance, the expos...

Re: Knob & Tube wiring

Getting Insurance for a Home with Knob and Tube Wiring Though you may be able to get financing for a home with knob and tube wiring, getting insurance for it can be difficult and the cost will likely be more than double. If the knob and tube wiring is active, most insurance companies will require th...

Re: Question on estimating a business value

I don't really think the poster is looking for a free lunch and everyone keeps giving the same response . . . hire someone. Is it really so hard for everyone to understand that he's just looking for a basic "rule of thumb" to see if is worth pursuing and opportunity. Different business typ...

Go to AgencyEquity.com and look at the list of agencies for sale throughout the US. There is a reason that 80% of the listed agencies are Allstate.

Re: How to insure a client that use Uber or Lyft

I have sent emails and facebooks messages to Uber and Lyft and they don't respond because THEY HAVE NOTHING! Lyft's website says: $1,000,000 excess liability insurance The Lyft platform provides drivers with excess liability insurance up to $1,000,000 per occurrence. This first-of-its-kind solution ...

Re: "On-Loan" Fine Art

I'm not sure why this is a problem. Have you been turned down by the retail shop's package policy carrier? Unless the fine artwork is million dollar stuff, it should be able to be covered by their current carrier.

Hartford School of Insurance

Has anyone ever attended any of the programs offered by the Hartford School of Insurance? They are fairly pricey but look like good intense programs. $3k for Commercial CSR 2 week school and $4k for Producer school. I would be interested in hearing opinions of any agency principals that have sent th...

Re: New Phone Line System Help

Last time I shopped for a phone, I had 3 different reps come in and give me their proposals. It's like buying an insurance program. You want to build a relationship so they are there in the future if you need them. And you need them to explain the industry changes. You also want someone that matches...

Re: It can happen to us too

Does a serial # really help? What are the chances that they find your laptop? I'm sure there is a chance, but I'm guessing very slim. Most of my computers are Dell so they have the service tag on them and that is stored in my dell account. But that is computers only, no monitors, scanners etc.
