Unusual Auto/Inland Marine Risk

Post by mmk »

Washington State

We have a non profit risk .....every year they do this project as
a fund raiser, this year they are wanting to have physical damage...The project is only for a couple ofweeks....can this be put on an inland marine type of policy...Any inputwould be appreciated........see below

There are 39 Japanese military vehicles made up of 27 that are 5000 to 14000 kilo weight and 12 vehicles that are 3500 kilo to 5000 kilo in size coming in via ship from Japan to Washington, The owner requires auto liability certificate from our insd for their volunteer drivers driving the Japanese Military trucks to the training grounds from the Port.

The volunteer drivers chosen by our Insured will donate their
time to drive them to the Training grounds. They will drive them back to the Port in two weeks.

They are driven under a supervised convoy. The State Patrol screens all
drivers, some of which have done this each year for several years. The insd gets paid by the owner for driving the vehicles to and from the trainging grounds.

They do not usually carry physical damage on the vehicles but would like a
quote to consider insuring them for Physical Damage. Stated amount on
larger vehicles to be $40,000. and $30,000. on the 12 smaller vehicles.

The auto liability coverage provided in the past has been a scheduled Auto
form covering screened and qualified Employees and Volunteers driving the scheduled vehicles. (not a market this year)

We have tried several markets but have been declined for various reasons. Any thoughts?
