HI,<P>I am a brazilian student finishing my graduation paper about auto insurancve in brazil and the world best practices.<BR>The part regarding the industry in brazil is done, but its hard to find information about underwriting best practices outside of brazil.<P>Does anyone have any link, paper, study about auto insurance underwriting?<P>Thanks very much

most companies follow a similair ISO guideline. (Insurance Services Office) This is what sets up standard practices for auto insurance and most companies use a form of ISO for their applications and guidelines. You should try looking them up online. Otherwise it really depends on the companies because they file their forms in their domicile state and have them approved by the insurance commisioner of each state. This is for underwriting as well as applications and rates. This way companies have to be within the guidelines of the state they are doing business in. EAch state has different laws and requirements. You might also try looking up insurance commisioners offices and see if they could fax or mail you the states requirements maybe. <BR>good luck<BR>Lisa<BR>Portland, OR.
