Hartford had an affinity group for this class....try them.

Unfortunately that's Hartford's whole sale market, the commission is ½ of what you would receive in the real world. Go to swett & crof or email

We have several of these types of risks with the Hartford. The commission may not be the highest but the premium and more importantly, the coverage's will be what your client/prospect needs and most likely the premium will be fair. Also, it is not like S&C is going to give you full commission either. Maybe the key to consideration is what is best for your client/prospect? Besides, Aon owns S&C so why give a cut of the deal to a competitor thru the back door!! If you are going to use an E&S Broker at least use an independent E&S Broker or program manager.

Crossins, I would have to say that the Theinskid, seem to really like Hartford infinity group, hum I wonder? I will say it again, we do not use Hartford contracted wholesaler (Infinity group). The commission is about 5% or less they are very slow to quote. And they are very limited in there market appetite. We all want to protect our clients or our E & O. There are outstanding wholesaler in the market place that pay could commission, 10% or more depending on the size.
I remember when Hartford was trying to find some wholesaler they could send their liability too, while Hartford wrote the property. Hartford has capture agents that have no access to wholesaler nor do they know how to shopped out. Hartford solved the problem with (Infinity Group).

Thanks for the help. I have a non-admitted quote for $25K. Even if The Hartford pays only 5%, I'll take it if its on Hartford paper.

Crossins, I am glade that you received a quote. To tell you the true I was thinking 35 to $40,000.
Do you have and avenue to finance the premium. That another area to make money, don't give it to Infinity. We need to make small correction. Your coverage is NOT on Hartford paper, not in a million years. Hartford will not entertain that type of risk. That's why they have a wholesaler. Your carrier will be most likely Scottsdale, or Century surety or fire and Marine, who know's. You could have gone to a handful of wholesaler and got 10%. Dude you need to make money, don't sell your self short. <_<

While I am prepared to be wrong...and will publicly admit it if I am...it is possible that the paper on this account will be a direct Hartford company. Remember that this is "Hartford Affinity" and not "Hartford Speciality". :rolleyes:
"Speciality" is basically a Hartford wholesaler.
Now it has been a few years since I dealt with Hartford directly....but that is what my memory tells me...and yes...my memory has been wrong before! :ph34r:

Pita3333, I must apologize, The Hartford is a wonderful company, I use them constantly.
I do get a little miffed, with the very limited BOP market. I wish they would open up more classes. Their middle market is what were after.
The Affinity Group, if I... remember correctly is there health life, group disability and investments etc. ( I could be wrong and will also express my apologies if so).
It's also mini-groups of wholesalers, and yes some are Hartford paper. I believe I made a mistake I was referring to there AMP program. Its been so long since we quit using it, will we never really use the program, as we have some great wholesaler. In fact it's some of the same that AMP uses....hum go figured.
The commission are horrible, and the market classes are very limited. The program reminded me of a farmer agent friend of mind who would complain about G.J Sullivan group.
