I am intersted in starting an insurance company in california, I am wondering what this will take, the questions that I have right now are:
1.) What type of certification does one need to do this?
2. ) What type of paperwork will need to be turned into the state, and which state agencies deal with new insurance co.'s?
3.) Would it be better to start the company off-shore and then sell policies in California, or is this something that can't be done?
4.) What kind of state approval is needed to start an insurance company
5.) What else am I missing (I am sure there is a lot!)
If this is a doable idea i am also intersted in colaborating with someone on this venture, I think that I have a really good idea and there is a market for the insurance I want to sell.
Any help is appreciated as I am totally new to the insurance business!
