How confident are you that your data is protected?

Post by pageltd »

Saw this recently on a company website (front and center):
Our Security Procedures
Our company maintains administrative policies and technical safeguards that are designed to (i) restrict access to your Information to those employees whom we determine have a legitimate business purpose to access such information in connection with the provision of products or services to you, and (ii) protect your Information against loss or unauthorized access or acquisition.

Given the precentage of agencies that host data online (in the cloud), how confident are you that your companies, and software vendors alike, can protect your clients' information?

The second part to the question is how well you are protecting yourself and your agency from the unknown. I am referring specifically to Cyber Liability Insurance.

Do you have a Cyber Liability Policy?
Have you read your policy?
Do you understand it fully?
Are you confident that it protects you in the event of a breach?

Lastly, what kinds of internal procedures do you have to prevent unauthorized disclosure of PII (Personally Identifiable Information or PHI (Personal/Private Health Information)?

this should have gotten a whole lot more attention that it did.

So...no one is concerned about data security?

Think about how you and your employees conduct business every day.

Time for a dialogue?
