Get with an aggregator or cluster that offers binding authority.

Do you have a book to move/roll to one of those carriers?
Are you a scratch agency, or transitioning from being a captive agent?
Are you interested in Personal Lines of Commercial Lines?

We are a scratch agency, interested in Personal Lines such as auto, home, landlord. I'm having a hard time to get appointment with carriers in Georgia. I only have direct appointment with Progressive right now.

Yes, there are groups that will give you access to some of the other carriers. Some carriers may be difficult to access directly but you'll have an easier time when you associate with a group or cluster.

I am biased, but as the network founder, I'd have to recommend checking out Horizon. https://horizonagency.systems/horizon/

I'm here to help rather than solicit, but since you ask I'm happy to help.

The regional sales managers have the power to appoint new agencies. First you have to identify them and then get in their good graces. Put together a knock out business plan. Present it to them. See what happens.

If all else fails then you can always use an aggregator.

I'm not a huge fan of the aggregator model, hence our structure being a hybrid between that and a cluster. That said, I agree that finding the marketing reps and really working them (bus & marketing plan) is definately doable.

I would be the first to tell you that success CAN happen without help, you can do it, I did, I built my agency, then network from scratch and it was hard. I did exactly what Jesse is saying. The reason I started the network was to accelerate the 10 year process of building a solid bonus paying lineup of carriers.

Also, it depends on area greatly. I can get appointed and writing business in hours with a carrier in one location, yet another take 6 mos and an act of congress.

We're in the same boat. Multiple locations in Kentucky, now starting a scratch insurance agency in Georgia. Needs access to a few high-quality home, auto, and business insurance options.
