After being insurance agent for 6 years, I am thinking of moving toward Risk management consulting, perhaps something that Scott does. I am on my way of getting CIC and CRM designations. So my question to you guys is: How is the market for independent Risk Management consultants? What other degrees/designations should I get to improve marketability. A CPA for instance? Thanks

CPCU and ARM are well recognized standards in the insurance buying community.

Consulting with insurance buyers is the best job in the insurance business.
