Acord Forms: Difference between 90 and 290

Post by John J90 »

Hi everyone,
Can someone please tell me what is the difference between the Acord form 90 "Personal Auto Application" and form 290 "Personal Auto Application SECTION"? All I want to know is which should be submitted to the carrier for a quote submission. Thank you and happy new year.

I'm not a personal lines person, but I think ACORD 90 is a standalone app, and ACORD290 is designed to be combined with ACORD88 to make a complete app. Think of personal packages where the auto is just one of the sections on the policy.

Hi -
Here's a link to an article from the ACORD website that explains the reasons for stand-alone and sectional ACORD forms and the different ways they can be used. Hope this helps. http://www.acord.org/about/NewsCenter/n ... alone.aspx
