Best Ways to Market a Niche Program to Brokers

Post by InsureTime »

I have looked at various options to market our national e-cigarette/e-juice product liability program to brokers. Email marketing seems to be my focus for now. There are various companies such as http://www.programbusiness.com or http://www.completemarkets.com. Has anyone had any luck with these companies? Any other information would be helpful.

Thank you,

FYI - I hate spam marketing and will not contact anyone that sends me spam.

I wouldn't think many agents run across these types of accounts very often and if they do they don't really want a new carrier/mga for it. You're going to need to find someone who wants to actively market the program.

And since your signature website doesn't work that certainly isn't going to help.

Maybe a better approach to marketing your niche product would be to partner with some of the agent/broker associations to be their “Specialist” or “Preferred Provider” for E-Cigarette/Vape Shop risks. It would most likely require some sort of sponsorship on your part. The association(s) could then periodically promote your product availability to their member agencies periodically and have you listed on their preferred products/preferred providers website if they have one. This would not only get your company name out to the association’s members, but their members will also recognize your company as a contributing sponsor to their member organization.

Here’s a link to the IIAB-Cal’s (formerly IBA West California) product/preferred provider list. They don’t have an e-cig/vape-shop product listed yet…

Good Luck!

Emails are often flooded with spam. If you are looking for a good marketing ways, try to visit some local citation websites because mortgage brokers work for real estate companies and individual consumers, the yellow pages is one of the more traditional marketing methods available to mortgage brokers. You should consider advertising in the print and online versions of the yellow pages.

Advertise in the main yellow pages in your area, which is usually the thicker book. You should also advertise in the print and online business-to-business yellow pages, as this is where real estate companies are likely to look.

Postcards can also be a highly effective marketing tool for brokers. Postcards are relatively cheap to print, and they cost less to mail than letters. Postcards are also more likely to get read than a letter because there is no envelope to open. You should include your company name, phone number and website on your postcard. Create a headline that highlights one of the benefits of doing business with you over another mortgage company.

Hi Sarkis,

I'd say you've done one of the best ways to market this niche product already by placing it on Insurance Journal's searchable database of insurance markets, MyNewMarkets.com. In fact, if you google Electronic Cigarette & E-Juice Insurance, your listing with us on MyNewMarkets.com comes up first, even over your own website! That is a fantastic result. In the yahoo search engine the listing on our site comes up 3rd. I included your product in our daily New Markets e-newsletter back in April and in the ONE day it was seen in the email, it was clicked on 137 times from subscribers. It has also been viewed 1,751 times since you posted it. Fantastic numbers! If you want to get back in to the daily new markets email or would like to highlight it in other ways on the site or email, hit me up!!
