Highly profitable mutual insurance company has retained The Carlisle Group seeking to hire a talented VP of Marketing. This role, reporting to the CEO, will have direct impact on all areas of the organization. The client is seeking a talented executive with strong exposure to marketing, underwriting, and workers compensation.

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing assistance to the President/CEO in the operation of the organization which will lead to increased growth and profitability. The VP of Marketing brings significant expertise in the underwriting of workers' compensation insurance and conducting business within the independent agent distribution model. The VP of Marketing has direct exposure to internal equity enterprise wide, the Board of Directors, reinsurers, agent partners, and policyholders of the company.

Provide significant expertise to organization enterprise wide in the areas of marketing & underwriting
Establish objectives for growth in written premium, working collaboratively with the CEO
Consistently set clear direction by defining goals & priorities
Own the development, review, and implementation of marketing strategies throughout the Company's written territory
Monitor the marketplace and identify competitor industry changes that impact effectiveness of current, pending, or proposed programs
Effectively manage agent-customer relationships
Articulate clearly the Company's risk appetite assuring agent partners have a concise understanding of what drives the organization's underwriting philosophy
Lead decisions regarding growth by distribution channel and deployment of marketing resources in the territory to achieve new business volume and quality standards through the effective sale of company products
Provide necessary business tools and training to staff and agent-customers. Recognize and act with a sense of urgency on opportunities to penetrate new markets or increase current market share
Take ownership in the process of state expansion including competitive analysis, development of marketing plan, state filings & licensing, appointment of agents/brokers aligned with Company's growth goals, and consistently ensure targets are being achieved
Keep senior management apprised monthly on areas of opportunity while additionally keeping senior management team fully abreast of concerns/challenges in order to develop a solution
Provide a clear value proposition to all external parties ensuring the Company's unique differentiators are properly positioned in the market versus competitive organizations
Be the brand ambassador for the Company at trade shows and agency presentations consistently representing the Company with the highest level of professional and ethical standards

4-year degree and/or equivalent business experience. Significant insurance education, such as INS, AU, CPCU or the demonstrated willingness to pursue insurance education is strongly recommended.

At least 10 years of increasingly responsible P&C insurance roles, including leadership. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead talent toward a common goal. Experience in both a line and staff environment preferred, along with a demonstrated success in managing customer relationships
