Summary:
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working within a team environment and can also thrive as an individual. The Premium Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for acquiring reparations for premium owed to a company. Receives and post payments to accounts, monitors overdue accounts, and collects debt. Maintains files on the financial status of customer accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicate with insured's and agents through written correspondence and telephone calls
Communicate with and support Audit department
Send out final audit invoices and follow up notices to both the agent and the insured
Collect payments and post to accounts
Reach out to agents on policies that have unpaid audit balances and motivate them to help collect
Manage the final audit aging reports and track audit balances
Set up and manage final audit payment plans
Assist supervisor in Direct Collections activity

Qualifications: A successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required and one to three years' related experience in customer service, billing, accounts receivable, insurance and collections a plus.

Required Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Familiar with the basic principles of accounting; debits and credits; receivables and payables
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and internet software. While not required, any experience with insurance billing software, AIM or Great Plains is a plus.
- Must be organized and great at multi-tasking, listening, and problem-solving.
- Must have excellent time management skills and ability
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive customer information.

Preferred Skills: - While not required, any experience with insurance billing software, AIM or Great Plains is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: - Works under general supervision. Work is reviewed for overall adequacy in performing tasks within company guidelines.
