The Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of New Mexico, through its duly appointed Search Committee is accepting applications for the position of President and CEO of the organization. IIANM, also known nationally as 'The Big I', serves as the "Voice of Independent Agents in New Mexico" and in this capacity works to create a positive business climate for the insurance industry and its independent agency members. IIANM is one of 51 State & District affiliates of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, the national organization that coordinates state activities and provides additional support on the federal level. IIANM has recently entered into management contracts with other insurance related associations, including the New Mexico Land Title Association, for which the staff provides similar services.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Challenges and Opportunities

The President/CEO serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. It is critical that the President/CEO possess the personal skills and management abilities and proficiencies to seek guidance from the Board and effectively implement Board policy. Toward that end the following challenges and opportunities essential.
• Serve as an effective spokesperson and passionate advocate for independent insurance agencies and the insurance industry throughout the entire state while working with leaders at the local, state and federal levels.
• Oversee the management of several associations, and actively seek input from all constituents, including managed entities, and continue to develop programs and services to help them grow and thrive.
• Build strong alliances with other trade, business and industry associations in order to facilitate a unified voice for insurance industry and business interests.
• Strategically lead efforts to strike an effective balance of allocating existing and potential resources.
• Grow and maintain a strong membership base and revenue.
• Create Additional revenue.

Ideal Characteristics

In filling the position, the Board and the Search Committee will consider the following characteristics as being ideal and will weigh them accordingly.

• A leader and manager with foresight and experience in growth management, planning and prioritizing the Association's needs.
• An excellent public speaker who is willing to travel the state to deliver the Association's message.
• A visionary who can define a path and stay the course, one who is determined to make a long-term commitment to members and the insurance industry.
• A person with excellent writing skills and creative abilities to help fashion interesting and engaging industry meetings and events.
• A skillful manager with extensive experience working with financial documents and managing budgets.
• An experienced and licensed insurance professional with the experience to research laws and provide advice and consulting expertise in support of member requests.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range is between $75,000 and $90,000 depending on education, management experience and the other attributes defined in this announcement and will be determined by the Board of Directors. The Board will also perform an annual performance evaluation and adjust the salary accordingly, if applicable.
