Responsible for program coordination including: developing client proposals, creating presentations, training staff, and resolving client issues.

Acts as Program Coordinator:

  • Acts as liaison between retail staff, underwriters and producers to manage policy issues;
  • Trains staff on program specifics such as coverages, check-in of policies and process for submissions;
  • Responds to detailed program questions and resolves difficult issues involving retail customers;
  • Evaluates new business submissions and allocates to appropriate party; Verifies submissions are completed;
  • Manages the preparation of presentations for annual underwriter meeting and presents to Alliant Executives;
  • Develops renewal specifications and/or proposals;
  • Manages retail staff and producer expectations as relates to the policy change requests that result from policy checking;
  • Participates in all critical committees including Marketing, Policy, Database; Attends invoicing meetings as needed;
  • Coordinates and manages the stand alone placements, and marketing efforts with assistance including DICs and/or other policies.

Acts as Assistant Underwriter:

  • Reviews submissions of new business prior to underwriting;
  • Redirects submissions for corrections or clarifications prior to submission to new business underwriting;
  • Performs account underwriting during renewal period; may include underwriting mid-term transactions, new members to existing JPAs, detailed review of bordereau, and small prospect underwriting;
  • Provides oversight on Producer/JPA allocations of premiums at renewal.

Acts as ABS Manager:

  • Allocates funds collected at renewal between loss control services, appraisals, and other contracts;
  • Reviews and provides status reports quarterly as to fund use to ensure match to budget;
  • Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of applicable agency management systems;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4 - 6 years related work experience; experience in insurance industry preferred
  • Requires a valid insurance license; must continue to meet requirements for license renewal

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical functions
  • Good problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork
  • Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in agency or related type of computer system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
