The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. The Consumer Loan Underwriter performs a variety of retail credit card underwriting tasks for a moderately complex process within the Wells Fargo Retail Services Underwriting Department.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving and underwriting routine individual consumer requests and products with few deviations and within company and industry guidelines
  • Functions may include reviewing credit applications, credit bureau information, and or other supporting documentation to recommend/approve requests within decisioning authority levels by way of automated scoring system or traditional underwriting
  • Responding to customer inquiries and credit decisions
  • Ensuring credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards; contacting customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions, and/or explain rationale behind credit decisions

HOURS OR OPERATION:

Monday – Saturday, 6am – 9pm PST; Sunday, 8am – 9pm PST

  • Work scheduled to be determined
  • Requires open availability during hours of operation
  • Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed by the business
  • Schedule and hours subject to change based on business need

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ months of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, processing, originations, or closing; or an AA/AS degree or higher; or 2+ years of military experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Call center experience
  • Ability to provide strong customer service and develop customer relationships
  • Ability to achieve high production and quality standards
  • Underwriting experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Credit card originations or credit card application processing experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wells Fargo Credit Cards
  • Experience with or exposure to CUSP and ACAPS
  • Wells Fargo Retail Services experience

Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

NV-Las Vegas: Min: $35,000 Mid: $48,000
