Product Manager (Commerical Real Estate and Landlord)

We have two positions available (Commercial Real Estate and Landlord)

Accountable for product premium volume growth and profitability results within assigned state(s). Geographic area depends on population size and market/regulation characteristics. Will manage relationship of every aspect of assigned product through interaction with relevant departments such as Claims, Underwriting, Sales/Marketing, Customer Service, and outside contracts (agents, regulators and industry groups). Develops action plans and strategic direction for functional areas and maintain alignment with other product managers to ensure successful development of the entire product line.

Job Profile Summary

This is the senior-level role that provides the product and profit and growth linkage with the geographic operating state for all company and alliance Commercial Real Estate/landlord products. Provides analysis of data and information, identification of root causes of deviations, development of solutions and driving the execution of plan implementation. Manages operational planning and rate revisions, accountable for achieving profit and growth goals. Maintains and communicates a detailed understanding of all performance indicators under the guidance of a leadership. Make recommendations that enhance guidelines/policies, systems or compliance efforts. Provides guidance to less experience staff.


Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of customer, business industry insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to review complex cases and/or review lines or books of business.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving to results in one or more of the following areas: sales, product lines, claims, or other core business functions.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting facts and data, including financial information, in a way that can lead to actionable conclusions.

  • The Product Manager is an influential working leadership role that partners with the entire commercial real estate/landlord team which is responsible to develop and communicate a thorough and deep understanding of all performance indicators with accountability for driving desired profit and growth results in assigned area. Develops appropriate metrics to measure success of initiative.
  • We are searching for a leader that has experience effectively managing relationships across multiple levels of an organization, while helping drive strategic business needs through analysis and actionable insights.
  • Insurance experience with commercial real estate properties including: Apartments, Condominiums, Buildings Leased to Others strongly preferred.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Develops and communicates a thorough and deep understanding of all performance indicators with accountability for driving desired profit and growth results in assigned area. Develops appropriate metrics to measure success of initiative.
  • Leads others toward the identification of valid root causes of business issues. Finds the data that are useful for root cause analysis in a timely manner. Understands what data are available and where to find data that has meaning to the problem at hand.
  • Manages cross-functional rate revision process.
  • Leads and coordinates stakeholders to analyze demographics and market segmentation to identify growth opportunities alignment and product changes.
  • Responsible for end-to-end development and deployment of Pricing, Filing, and Product strategies using fact-based decisions based upon a knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, claims handling trends, and distribution channel.
  • Leads projects or initiatives that support Underwriting Operations. This may include impacts to underwriting policies, guidelines, systems, processes or metrics.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationship with other lines to avoid product overlaps or gaps and determines opportunities.
