As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license. Our Opening
• If required, the hiring manager will work with you along with the centralized licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.
Since this is a field role, you will also need a driver’s license and reliable vehicle. This is a demanding field position that will require you to travel within the territory as much as 75% of your working time. As a result, you must be willing to work some weekend and extended hours if necessary.
If offered the role, you may go to one of our regional training centers for training in our state-of-the-art facility within your first two months at Allstate. You will work with other Allstate employees to learn standard processes, answer any questions you have and make career connections.

About the PositionUnder general supervision, this job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling moderately complex property or liability insurance claims. This individual may or may not handle losses that do not require an outside adjuster's inspection and works with clients. This individual reviews the insurance policy, reviews reports and photos, evaluates damages, determines loss coverage and authorizes payments.
Specific responsibilities include• Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
• Researches and responds to moderately complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
File Documentation and Reporting• Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
• May handle first notice of loss of water damage claims
Coverage, Liability and Evaluation• Investigates, reviews, determines and verifies moderately complex coverage/policy information
• Provides coverage explanation to customer
Damage Estimating• Reviews/approves repair estimate
• Prepares moderately complex damage estimates
• Organizes and reconciles bills
• Conducts fast track estimating
• Handles additional living expense claims as needed
• Handles contents inventories and moderately complex contents pricing analysis and prepares claims reports
• Handles claims that include Public Adjuster involvement
• Adheres to applicable compliance standards
Other Projects and Responsibilities• May participate in one or more moderately complex special assignments
• May serve as a committee team lead for smaller projects or as a committee team member on medium projects
• Conducts subrogation investigationsQualifications
• Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
• Experience investigating evaluating, negotiating and setting moderately complex property claims strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Xactimate preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for helping others.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems.
• Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
• Has and maintains all appropriate licenses and registrations for the role per state requirements
