Job Description

Direct management responsibility for the Written Communications Team. Directs a staff of writers and leads project teams, Oversees and evaluates direct reports to ensure department goals are met, Coach and develop team members, Creates, implements and measures internal/external communication plans as they relate to targeted initiatives, Develops key messages to drive engagement and build brand recognition, Builds and maintains relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, Contributes to strategic decision making, Leads, initiates ideas and actions on cross-functional teams, Presents concepts and final work product to senior executive level, Works with high level of independence. 

 

The Communications Team is responsible for the development of communications to drive engagement and build brand recognition for Allstate Benefits.

The Communications Supervisor oversees all internal and external communications for Allstate Benefits, ensuring our messaging is consistent and engaging. Key responsibilities include leading the communications team, preparing press releases, marketing and training materials in support of targeted initiatives within the organization. This individual will work and collaborate with leadership to identify, build out and evaluate effectiveness of communications strategies designed to drive engagement and build brand recognition. The supervisor will also work internally to support key employee initiatives and training. 

Key Responsibilities

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required - Communications/Public Relations concentration preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of marketing, communications and/or public relations experience, Insurance and/or financial services industry knowledge a plus
  • Advanced experience using Microsite suite and SharePoint
  • Proven leadership/management skills within a corporate setting
  • Expert knowledge of written communications and communication planning
  • Advanced presentation development and delivery skills
  • Developed negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function strategically and work with others across the enterprise, Intermediate strategic and analytical skills.
