Job Summary

AMCS (Allstate Management Consulting Services) is a trusted internal organization providing integrated consulting services to enable our Allstate clients to achieve Our Shared Vision. We leverage enterprise resources to build a stronger business and act as an advisory partner that helps to improve Allstate performance by identifying and analyzing innovative business and technology opportunities, architecting new operating models, designing and improving business processes, and providing organizational redesign services.  We understand the organization and are able to influence business strategy by partnering with leadership and acting as connectors, bringing the right voices and fact-based information together so that business and technology leaders can make informed decisions that benefit our customers.

This position reports to a Manager and will be responsible for aiding or leading the development and execution of management consulting projects to drive transformational change. In addition this resource will be responsible for supporting the development of lower-level team members, aiding in the maintenance of the methodology of the consulting services and cultivating and fostering complex client partnerships and relationships.  This resource should be knowledgeable in one or more consulting service methodologies and should be able to help drive business opportunities that benefit Allstate and Allstate’s customers.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Building

:  Builds, cultivates, and maintains long term relationships within the organization to support project delivery. Develops positive relationships based on trust with partners, effectively communicating across teams, departments, business partners, and users. 

Communication

:  Communicates effectively in challenging and complex situations.  Presents complicated information with efficiency, delivering a message that resonates with the audience.

Corporate Awareness

:  Possesses cross-functional awareness. Understands the different contributions from the AORs (Areas of Responsibilities).

Project Scoping

:  Manages or assists with the development of proposals and approaches for single or multi-phase projects.  Provides mid-level thought leadership in identifying client needs and designing strategies and solutions to meet those needs with the appropriate management consulting methodology.  Helps ensure project approaches and strategies support organization and business goals.  Demonstrates financial acumen by articulating the business value for engagements.

Project Contracting

:  Leads or assists with contracting conversations of a moderate to complex nature to ensure client and consultant needs are identified and intended outcomes are understood. Works with team leaders and stakeholders to identify changes to deliverables and scope.  
Project Delivery:  Executes projects and programs of moderate complexity.  Demonstrates an ability to apply agile consulting practices in a fast paced uncertain business environment. Seeks and utilizes relevant functional, business, and technical knowledge to identify and recommend the best solutions for clients. Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Provides assumptions for models, interprets results, and reviews and provides feedback to improve the quality of deliverables.  Designs and presents strategic summaries of analysis and recommendations for multiple audiences, including executive level.  Leads the development of client documentation, and presents results and recommendations to the client.  

Project Management

:  Provides timely communication of project health to engagement leaders.  Identifies risks and issues that are internal and external to the engagement. Mitigates, resolves and/or escalates risks and issues as appropriate.  Monitors client satisfaction of delivery. 

Team Development

:  Leads team in evaluating and pursuing new business and operational improvement efforts. Identifies and implements improvements to internal team processes. Provides informal training to consultants on the team.

Consulting Acumen

:  Leverages and identifies opportunities to apply benchmarking data and industry research. Leverages external research, models and practices and applies them internally to bring thought leadership to the organization.  Contributes to thinking and thought leadership in the internal management consulting community. Builds greater depth in knowledge of management consulting tools and methodologies in specific areas and understands how and when to apply them. 

Job Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree is desired but not required. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in management consulting, business transformation and operating model design, process design and modeling, and/or program and project management is preferred. 
  • Experience leading business projects with a focus on how digital and emerging technologies impact optimal business designs is desired but not required.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
