Agency Technology Solutions is the Allstate Technology & Strategic Ventures (ATSV) organization’s partner to the Personal Property Liability business. Agency Solutions works in conjunction with Sales and Marketing to make enhancements needed to build, maintain, and support software and infrastructure products. This team will directly support Allstate agents with the purpose to make those platforms and environment more user-friendly.

A Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the organization by growing him/herself, growing others and growing the business.

Job Summary

The Technical Product Leader plans, directs, designs, and executes IT-related activities related to Agency Solutions that are of a complex and critical nature. The Technical Product Leader selects, leads, counsels, motivates, sets expectations and evaluates medium to large scale teams. Additionally, they confer with and advise direct reports on administrative policies and procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution, sourcing decisions, budget and priorities. This person also assists in defining, implementing and prioritizing IT policies, procedures, and best practices. The Technical Product Leader impacts team and business results by maintaining awareness of industry trends to identify new opportunities for the team and product.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Builds long-term relationships within team and amongst peers by creating an environment of safety and innovation
    • Responsible for managing global Product delivery teams of 40 members

  • Executes HR-related processes and develops staff through coaching and mentoring and providing specific, timely, open, honest, and constructive performance feedback.
  • Leads employees and influences peers through change by using one’s self as an example.
Key Responsibilities-Cont

General Management & Decision Making

  • Sets and executes product strategy, including objectives, plans, metrics and policies needed to develop and deliver innovative solutions. Communicates strategy to the ATSV and Business teams so they understand their role in achieving the established goals.
  • Manages day to day work of the team and employees by monitoring budgets, expenses and scope
  • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Makes decisions that have an impact on availability, stability, quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their immediate team.
  • Initiates and implements continuous improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
  • Anticipates issues and develops preventive measures.
  • Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and contributes to Allstate business and functional strategy.
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions and product direction.
  • Providing leadership and program level oversight in planning, evaluation, design, development, implementation, operation, and control of application solutions

Business Partner Management

  • Influences direct reports, clients, service providers, and peers to successfully deliver on commitments.
  • Partners with others in their organization to set and manage expectations; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships.
  • Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial.
  • Adapts communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levels
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years people or technical leadership or equivalent experience leading a team or working in a team oriented collaborative environment
  • Strong experience leading technical teams or initiatives
  • Strong experience working in an agile methodology. Examples include: product manager, product owner or scrum master.
Compensation Data

The minimum salary for this position is $115,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
