Job Description Summary
The Sr Consultant, Content Management is responsible for managing, creating and delivering design, written, and/or multimedia content on projects with medium to large complexity. Specifically, this individual will assist with communications relating to Travelers’ sustainability efforts (most notably, Travelers’ public-facing sustainability reporting) and Legal Services communications initiatives.
This job does not manage others.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides support in updating the content of Travelers’ sustainability site, including:

  • Working with appropriate internal subject matter experts with respect to each substantive section of the site and liaising with internal resources on the collection of photos and graphics.
  • Editing content received from others, putting it in the “voice of Travelers” and ensuring that it’s appropriately drafted for a (primarily) investor audience.
  • Managing multiple versions of the various subsections of the site.
  • Engaging with vendors/outside partners, as necessary.
  • Partnering closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer and Chief Legal Officer to finalize Travelers’ sustainability reporting and prepare it for publication on an annual basis.

Creates, develops, and delivers written communications and related material (PowerPoint presentations, multi-media assets, press releases, etc.) in support of Legal Services initiatives and programs, including:

  • Working with Legal Operations in the planning and execution of communications related to Legal Services events, such as Quarterly Webcasts and Speaker Series.
  • Drafting and updating content for Legal Services, including for the Legal Services inside page, and partnering with General Counsel and Legal Services Senior Leadership Team to ensure information on inside is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Reviewing and editing draft communications from cross-functional teams, legal groups, and other authors within Legal Services for distribution to Legal Services (or subsets thereof).

Develops and delivers design, written, and/or multimedia content within Legal Services and Sustainability.

Creates, develops and delivers complex design, written, and/or multimedia content for use across different mediums and published across a variety of channels.

Reinforces established design, written, and/or multimedia content standards and techniques.

Ensures that assigned design, written, and/or multimedia content initiatives support business objectives, delivering required look, feel and appeal.

Utilizes a wide array of design, written, and/or multimedia content applications, software, tools and equipment to create marketing content.

Stays abreast of cutting edge technology and makes recommendations to management on potential enhancements.

Defines content parameters/strategies that capture and project corporate identity and maximize style, brand identification and translate desired impact of assigned project.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of related content development experience.
  • Requires general knowledge of the creative development, design, copy, production and media planning functions and the ability to integrate and coordinate internal and external resources.
  • Requires some general insurance industry knowledge.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications or English, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of communications/content development experience.
  • Strong organizational understanding.
  • Strong understanding of the Travelers brand.
  • General knowledge of digital design, flow and site organization.
  • Experience in identifying and consulting with customer/client base on appropriate communication/content approaches.
