Job Summary

A Communications Senior Manager is accountable for developing and executing stakeholder communication strategies for the organization. This work includes but is not limited to executive positioning, communication counsel, planning and execution, project ownership, agency system stakeholder management and sales conference content delivery to improve agency owner engagement. A primary role includes developing quality, error-free, strategically targeted communications to benefit the agency system. At this level, project leadership will be of critical importance.

Key Responsibilities


Project Management
⦁ Consistently plans, implements, manages, and/ or sponsors projects of moderately high complexity
⦁ Works independently and may own pieces of critical projects from start to finish
⦁ Forecasts short-term and long-term deliverables cross functionally
⦁ Formulates strategies to achieve plan objectives
⦁ Communicates and presents project information to project team as well as providing presentation/ updates to senior level management
⦁ Actively builds strong relationships among teams and team members to ensure cooperation on project objectives
⦁ Ensures processes are followed and applied consistently throughout team/department
⦁ Evaluates and implements process improvements to internal and external compliance requirements/standards
⦁ Manages all-project-related expenses
⦁ Supports governance process
⦁ Analyzes statistical data as it relates to programs, projects and processes of high complexity; provides action alternatives for improvement as appropriate
⦁ Actively manages project-related expenses

Process and Product Design/Improvement
⦁ Develops communication strategies and materials to support new plans, programs & processes
⦁ Solicits and integrates input from key stakeholders
⦁ Proactively evaluates procedures and processes regularly and determines/ recommends alternatives or improvements
⦁ Ensures processes are followed and applied consistently throughout team/department

Program and Process Communications
⦁ Notifies individuals of and monitors the cutoff/due dates for the completion and submission of materials
⦁ Edits and proofreads materials for accuracy in content as well as spelling, punctuation, and grammar
⦁ Composes standard correspondences (routine memos and letters)
⦁ Creates web content (articles, webpages)
⦁ Attends meetings to provide consulting support (communication vehicles, standard practices)
⦁ Answers complex inquiries


Knowledge Management
⦁ Trains/coaches team members or peers
⦁ Actively shares expertise among peers and other disciplines
⦁ Seen as a leader among peers

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience
⦁ 3-5 years experience required
⦁ Bachelor’s degree required, Communication, English, or Journalism degree preferred
⦁ Master’s degree preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
⦁ None required

Functional Skills
⦁ Proficient in Microsoft Office
⦁ Strong communication and intermediate project management skills required


Compensation Data

Compensation for this position will start at $59,500/year. Actual salary offered will depend on selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
