Our HR consulting team is designed to support the needs of WTW clients via a continuum of services including providing high-level guidance and consulting, developing and maintaining resources and tools and engaging in tailored, templated solutions that address client specific HR challenges.

This key “hands-on” contributor role will assist in the delivery of client projects and assist with researching and responding to client’s HR challenges (both tactical and strategic). In addition, this role will recommend and deliver HR solutions, including intellectual capital and resources, to help clients address a myriad of human capital challenges specifically within HR compliance, leave administration, talent acquisition and management and total rewards.

The ideal candidate will be able to support the team in assisting with client requests and needs, both directly and indirectly in collaboration with senior HR consultants. This role will allow a motivated candidate to expand their HR knowledge and experience and evolve to support clientele within an assigned region. While this role will be provided the opportunity to work remotely or work out of a Willis Towers Watson office (once deemed appropriate considering COVID-19), the selected candidate will need to reside near a Willis Towers Watson office within the east region.

Role Priorities

HR Service Delivery

  • Supports the development of intellectual capital, resources and templated project solutions beneficial in addressing clients HR challenges.
  • Develops and/or reviews content of employer-facing resources and tools on subjects including but not limited to Inclusion and Diversity, FMLA, Paid Time Off, Onboarding, Succession Management and Workplace Flexibility.
  • Supports senior consultants on client projects including paid time off and leave competitiveness/compliance. Maintains first-hand knowledge about all our products and services.
  • Responds to client inquiries and needs for guidance/assistance in addressing day-to-day HR challenges, for assigned offices or in assisting Senior HR Partner Consultants. Advises local client services teams and/or clients of services and solutions available to support clients HR needs and challenges
  • Presents HR consulting capabilities and associated technology and data solutions to clients, prospects, and client service teams when called upon. Ability to demo web-based client resources and effectively communicate HR Partner capabilities and other services across the organization. Must be able to walk clients up a continuum of services from self-service tools, to the sale of fee-based solutions and products.
  • Conducts relevant research, data analysis, creates reports and other materials to support the practice and business.
  • Presents key findings related to HR best practices to clients whom engage in our HR Gap Assessment study when called upon by regional offices or Senior HR Partner Consultants

Client Relationship Management

  • Establishes strong relationships with HRP senior consultants and other Willis Towers Watson colleagues in order to meet client needs.
  • Partners with client service and sales teams, for assigned offices as applicable, to implement HR initiatives that support client retention strategies

The Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, HR or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of experience - preferably in a consulting environment (corporate experience is a plus), particularly with middle-market clients. PHR/SPHR or other HR certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of key HR disciplines including talent acquisition and management, employee retention and engagement, performance management, succession management, training and development and workplace flexibility. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, et al). In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in navigating federal and state paid sick and family/medical leave laws as well as employer-provided paid leave/time off.
  • Ability to research and respond to HR challenges and issues related to employment mandates that affect HR policies and practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative). Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and web-based technology solutions. Ability to develop new tools and templates that can be leveraged using Excel and other software.
  • Willingness to travel 20% of time and back up regional Senior HR consultants in delivering HR Partner Capabilities, delivery of HR Gap Assessments, etc .(and willingness to utilize web-based technology as alternatives).
