Job Summary

Data, Discovery, and Decision Science (D3) is the research and analytics organization at Allstate. The Data, Discovery and Decision Science (D3) job family is accountable for serving as a subject matter expert in the discipline of focus (Behavioral Science) and leading or supporting the application of knowledge and techniques to impact business goals. This job family is responsible for teaching and consulting in their discipline across a broad audience and for driving adoption of related principles to innovate and improve the work done across the department and enterprise.

The Behavioral Science Sr Consultant is responsible for using behavioral science to understand customer insights, influence change and drive decision making.

Key Responsibilities

⦁ Serves as a behavioral science subject matter expert and consults on complex issues and improves the effectiveness of business decisions by using behavioral insights and methodologies
⦁ Maintains familiarity with academic literature and emerging trends in Behavioral Science to develop hypotheses
⦁ Derives insights based on qualitative and quantitative analysis
⦁ Helps design, implement and manage projects and approaches
⦁ Develops techniques and methodologies to achieve business and corporate goals drawing upon broad functional expertise in behavioral science
⦁ Conducts foundational research across the organization, executing a variety of research programs, such as data analysis, interviews, workshops and various forms of design prototype evaluation
⦁ Closely partners with product, data science, and machine-learning teams to deliver behaviorally informed products and processes.
⦁ Contributes to the creation of journey maps and user personas
⦁ Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

⦁ Bachelor or Master’s in a field such as behavioral, cognitive, experimental or social psychology, cognitive sciences, Human Factors/Human Computer Interaction or related field; or equivalent experience
⦁ Experience with qualitative research methods, product and/or service design or UX research
⦁ Familiarity with inferential statistics, data analysis (e.g. linear and logistic regression) and experimental design (e.g. A/B testing)
⦁ Some experience working with statistical software (R or Python strongly preferred)
⦁ Experience handling data and writing database queries using tools such as SQL preferred
⦁ Ability to communicate highly specialized information in a systematic and understandable manner and to present this data to audiences with various levels of expertise
⦁ Ability to work cross-functionally with both qualitative and quantitative researchers (e.g. data scientists, UX researchers)
⦁ Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner
⦁ Ability to contribute to tactics to support changing business strategies and direction
⦁ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build rapport, establish credibility, serve as a consultant
⦁ Functional knowledge of business in general; consulting or insurance industry experience preferred

Compensation Data

The minimum salary for this position is $51,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
