Job Description

The Technical Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of the Award-winning Allstate Roadside API Product Ecosystem. The Product Manager manages the strategic product vision, product discovery, roadmaps, and backlog to maximize the customer and enterprise value provided by their product. The Product Manager works closely with key stakeholders and functional partners, ensuring the successful definition and execution of go-to market and communications strategies for their products. The Product Manager is also responsible for actively participating in our learning culture; including coaching and mentoring staff, stakeholders and peers.

Key Responsibilities
  • API Evangelist – Drive API first mindset for Allstate Roadside
  • Create, drive and execute product strategy for the Allstate Roadside API Products
  • Understand and support Restful API interfaces on an API Gateway (Apigee)
  • Enhance and define API products built for both B2B and B2C business Models
  • Interface with and manage stakeholder expectations (internal and external).
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Engineers and other Product Teams to make decisions about product strategy.
  • Define and manage KPIs to measure the success of your efforts and to inform the overall product strategy.
  • Decompose complex problems into smaller manageable tasks through engagement in test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions.
  • Manage the product backlog and provide timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations.
  • Ensure the successful execution of APIs with tight feedback loops and definitions.
  • Develop and execute both an internal and external communications strategy for marketing your products including presentations and demos.
  • Adhere and enforce API standards with framework styled API building blocks using APIGEE and custom scripts.
  • Provide insight to service level metrics by partner.
  • Drive platform migration
Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal; written communication; and people skills
  • Experience with onboarding and expectation setting with external partners
  • Knowledge of publishing APIs using API management tools and gateways such as Google Cloud-APIGEE or similar products and Swagger, java, javascript, python, springboot
  • Strong understanding of API gateway, API protocols, API management console and API Documentation creation and deployment
  • Experience with delivering APIs to the Marketplace
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you had the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals
  • Prioritizing work with multiple product teams across large organizations
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired
  • Preferred
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a product development team with proven experience in data-driven decision making
  • Clear passion for topics of technology products and ability to innovate within a product space
  • Ability to be self-directed and proactively anticipate problems and seek solutions
  • Experience working in Agile – Scrum and SAFE methodologies
Compensation Data

Compensation and Benefits include:



  • The minimum salary for this position is $105,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
