Allstate is looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our Rapid Product Delivery to support the Allstate Family of Companies.

Allstate is expanding beyond insurance to offer our customers a complete circle of protection for all aspects of their lives. What You Will Do

In this role, you would help to define, deliver, and manage the lifecycle of one or more emerging products; this includes the creation of product roadmaps, identification of assumptions, managing of partner relationships, creation of user stories/epics, and identification of acceptance criteria.

Job Duties
• Assist the Product Engineering Manager with the product backlog; contribute towards creating an effective vision and provide timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations.
• Use customer feedback, market analysis, and data gathering to provide recommendations on decisions about product strategy and/or additional metrics to collect.
• Provide input on decomposing complex problems into smaller manageable tasks.
• Ensure the successful execution of development standards to ensure tight feedback loops and clear product definition.
• Play a key role establishing, constantly improving, and executing on product development and delivery (with quality, stability, and customer focus) while maintaining a highly engaged, energized, and efficient team.
• Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
• Ability to translate business needs and priorities into execution using Agile methodologies (Scrum/XP)
• Ability to translate technical challenges and other details into business terms (or customer impact) to assist in proper business value assignment and backlog/roadmap prioritization.
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Align the team and focus delivery upon the defined product value (KPIs).
• Identify and remove barriers that may impede successful completion of product features.
• Coordinate cross-functional business and technical teams, along with potential 3rd party vendors, required for the successful delivery of the product/platform.

Qualifications
  • 2 Years or more working as a Product Owner in fast paced Agile delivery environment.
  • Incredibly focused and attentive to detail, even while working in a very fast-paced environment
  • A high-energy, expert communicator to both technical and non-technical team members, brimming with positive, proactive energy and dynamic leadership skills with ability to motivate teams
  • Hungry for knowledge and understanding of both technical and business details
  • Ability to contribute towards data-driven decision making on complex and innovative concepts
  • Ability to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
  • Able to prioritize tasks for yourself and others
  • Experienced with group and meeting facilitation as well as conflict management techniques.
  • Working understanding of Agile Principles, Scrum Methodology, eXtreme Programming (XP) Methodology
  • Experience with one or more Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g. VersionOne, Jira)
  • Working understanding of user stories, relative sizing
  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree/experience, MBA/MIS/MS desired
  • Business Analysis/Product Owner certifications are desired (e.g. IIBA-CBAP, PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, ICA-APO)
