Job Description

Allstate is currently looking to hire an experienced Lead Java Software Engineer – Web Services to join our expanding technology hub. This position will be a technical leader responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of enterprise scale, cloud-based services supporting our mobile client applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available service solutions supporting high-volume, customer facing mobile clients.
  • Leads and contributes to all phases of software development and support, including design, coding, unit testing, code review, defect correction, deployment planning and production support.
  • Leads team in ensuring active participation in agile scrum-based ceremonies.
  • Provides expertise on current standards, best practices, and cutting edge technologies and frameworks.
  • Partners closely with product owner to help define application requirements and delivery planning.
Job Qualifications

Education:


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience:


  • 4+ years of hands-on, Java 8, REST based service development using Spring Boot with IntelliJ or Eclipse STS IDE’s.
  • Experience with enterprise level, high-availability, application development required.
  • Experience working with Java 8 Cloud Foundry Build Pack, Oracle JDBC, GIT, Gradle, Jenkins, Data Dog a plus.
  • Experience working with Oracle, MongoDB, Scality a plus.
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications deployed on PCF cloud a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Up to date on modern development standards.
  • Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development
  • Insurance or Financial industry experience a plus
Compensation Data

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$132,000/yr

Salary offered will be commensurate with experience

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
