The Technology Strategy Senior Manager role sits within Allstate Technology, Services & Ventures (ATSV) – and is integral to defining our enterprise strategies and driving transformational change forward. You’ll have an opportunity to work at the intersection of business and technology, bringing the right voices, information and thought leadership together to help set the strategic direction for how Allstate will leverage technology to transform our enterprise – creating competitive advantage into the future. Job Description

What you will do:

⦁ Partner with other strategists and enterprise leaders to lead the development of our technology vision, direction, and specific objectives for the enterprise and for targeted organizational areas
⦁ Communicate the technology strategy so the organizations is clear about the change required, their role in driving it, are motivated to achieve our goals and have clear line of the sight between their work and Allstate’s strategies
⦁ Facilitate the implementation of our enterprise technology strategy, including high-level planning of work and resources; use your personal influence to enlist employees and peers in driving change
⦁ Apply your knowledge to complex situations – where alternatives are numerous and the path forward is unclear – to support the development of a broad strategic intent and direction
⦁ Leverage in-depth business knowledge to build alignment and gain acceptance of complex ideas to achieve our goals and objectives (often in difficult situations)
⦁ Act as a thought leader by developing ideas that have strategic impact and align with broader enterprise strategies
⦁ Lead a team in driving significant impact via complex assignments – creating structure and leveraging processes that enable oversight of delivery while allowing employees freedom of action

Job Qualifications

What we are looking for:

⦁ 8+ years of Enterprise-level business and/or technology strategy/transformation experience
⦁ 10+ years of business experience (financial services sector preferred)
⦁ Bachelor’s degree with a differentiated academic track record, MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
⦁ Polished, executive-level communication skills (written and oral)
⦁ Intrinsic learner, able to quickly come up to speed and become a thought leader on unfamiliar subjects
⦁ Leadership – strong work ethic with an inherent sense of ownership and responsibility, with a desire to create and model an environment of accountability within the team
⦁ Ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to frame ambiguous or conceptual problems
⦁ Strong interpersonal, relationship building, influencing and leadership skills
⦁ Thought leadership – the ability to apply knowledge to diverse and complex situations, developing complex ideas that have long-term, strategic impact and in alignment with broader enterprise goals
⦁ Proficiency in the business of technology, with a demonstrated understanding of technology strategy and emerging trends in the industry
⦁ Strong facilitation skills; the ability to orchestrate workshops and synthesize points of view from senior leaders in real-time and drive a group towards consensus
⦁ Passion to learn the business of technology, specifically on using technology to guide business strategy
