The Role

In this role, you will serve as a member of the Collision team Remotely. You will be the champion of Backend development utilizing Continuous Integration & Deployment practices in an Agile SCRUM environment. You will build out products utilizing a variety of technologies including Go, Java and/or Kotlin and Swift. You will own the full stack of software products, developing and implementing frontends (mobile), and backend services. You will actively participate in the decision-making process of the team ensuring that the simplest appropriate technology and design is chosen to meet user needs. You will coach other team members, creating an environment of continuous learning, and constantly challenging and stretching the knowledge of the team.

Responsibilities



  • Participates in product team standups
  • Participates in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product
  • Participates in executing the strategy, keeping the customer needs and wants in mind
  • Provides input into the architecture and design of the product; collaborating with the team in solving problems the right way
  • Practices test driven development in writing software and building product
  • Evaluates detailed business, functional, and high-level technical requirements to create User Stories
  • Applies reusability and up-to-date engineering techniques, languages, and best practices
Qualifications
  • Experience in backend development, server-side development, including REST, Event-driven & Async design
  • Experience developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to Go, Java, Kotlin
  • Have interest in Mobile applications
  • Openness to understand and refactor existing/legacy code
  • A college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field, including a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
  • 5+ years of developing and implementing systems at scale
  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts, object-oriented design principles
  • Experience developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages, including but not limited to Go, Java, Kotlin
  • Experience in Test Driven Development, including knowledge and experience in testing frameworks
  • Experience with integrating REST API's
  • Familiar with SOLID principles
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Able to learn new technologies, and teach other members of the team

The salary range for this level position is $80,000 - $126,200.  Salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
