This position is responsible for the overall strategic management and service of existing benefits clients. The position will be responsible for a block of current clients with the goal of maintaining and growing that block.

Essential Functions:
  • Bring new clients to the agency,
  • Analyze Employee Benefit products and recommend solutions to clients,
  • Meet with carriers and review product portfolio,
  • Act as liaison for the client/carrier relationship
  • Maintain carrier relationship
  • Educate clients on the administration of benefit plans and compliance issues
  • Proactively manage client inquiries
  • Develop and manage a block of business
  • Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines
  • Stay updated on carrier options, legislation, compliance and carrier guidelines
  • Build positive relationships with clients
  • Meet with clients to discuss insurance needs

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of business experience with knowledge of Group Employee Benefits or Group Employee Benefits Account Management preferred. The desired individual will have demonstrated project management skills and ability to participate in business development activities, as well as understanding of health and welfare underwriting, analytics and modeling.
  1. Knowledge of and familiarity with current Health, Life, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability (LTD), Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Care products.
  2. Knowledge of and familiarity with PPACA current and proposed regulations.  Ability to run an effective meeting, using listening, reasoning and articulate communication skills.
  3. Proficient in a variety of computer software applications used by the agency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint; as well as the internet and Carrier Web Sites.
