We provide solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management, pricing and funding strategies, data analytics, valuation support, compliance and governance strategies. We also provide Specialty consulting services including clinical/health management program design, pharmacy solutions, disability/absence management strategies and claims audit services. Product based solutions such as our pharmacy purchasing coalition round out our broad-based suite of offerings.
As a Health and Benefits Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for large, complex clients and leverage your experience as a benefits expert to make recommendations on plan design and management on the full array of health and benefits programs. You will participate in new business activities and the creation of intellectual capital. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the pivotal point on all projects and working alongside industry experts on cutting edge solutions.

The Role
As a Health and Benefits Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for large, complex clients and leverage your experience as a benefits expert to make recommendations on plan design and management on the full array of health and benefits programs. You will participate in new business activities and the creation of intellectual capital. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the pivotal point on all projects and working alongside industry experts on cutting edge solutions.
- Play a lead role in the design/management of primarily group medical plans for large, complex clients
- Provide valued-added consulting expertise on large, sophisticated projects including health and welfare plan re-design, benchmarking studies, plan renewals, vendor analysis and management, strategic solutions addressing client’s needs, etc.
- Serve as lead project manager and day to day contact for clients; materially contribute to project plan creation and lead the team on delivery; ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables and quality standards
- Drive superior, consistent project management for concurrent projects
- Coordinate across specialty practices to ensure consistent delivery of projects to clients; includes partnering with pharmacists, absence/disability, health/clinical management, etc
- Translate business/client needs into comprehensive project plans including objectives, timeline, deliverables and budget
- Serve as primary, day-to-day contact to clients
- Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through efficient, quality execution of projects, effective communication, and value added consulting advice
- Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
- Identify and help resolve issues
The Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience and success in design/management of large group health and welfare plans; alternatively, similar experience in a consultative role gained at a carrier or vendor
- Strong financial skills
- Proven experience creating project plans and successfully leading teams in execution
- Demonstrated success in managing client issues and relationships
- Solid experience consulting on the fundamentals of Health & Welfare plan design including best practices
- Proven experience in successfully leading project teams with multifaceted, competing priorities and deadlines, including virtual work teams
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, integrative and problem solving skills
- Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement
- Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and have fun
