The Role



As a Pharmacy Product Development Project Manager you will leverage your strong project management, communication and relationship skills to contribute to the development and growth of the Pharmacy Practice Solutions and Consulting suite of offerings available to clients. You will spend half your time providing operational and project management support for the Solutions and Intellectual Capital Development team and Health and Benefits and Pharmacy consultants, supporting product development from concept, research, refinement, launch, maintenance and measurement. The other half of your time will be spent supporting client engagements for pharmacy consulting services. You will have the opportunity to significantly grow your pharmacy and broader health and benefits business acumen as well as your project management and client relationship skills by working on cutting edge projects alongside leaders in the industry.

You will contribute to varied and interesting projects such as:

60-70% commitment to:


  • Engage in a combination of market research, competitive analysis, customer feedback, clinical diligence and data/claims interrogation to develop revenue generating new solutions to address our clients’ needs

  • Meet with vendors to understand the opportunities for strategic partnerships and pharmacy solution opportunities including potential for technology enablement

  • Partner closely with the solutions, health management, health analytics and other related cross functional Willis Towers Watson teams to define a multi-year strategy for expanding the comprehensiveness of our integrated pharmacy and clinical offerings

  • Project manage product research, development, deployment and outcomes measurement within the assigned time period and with an assigned growth goal

  • Act as liaison with Willis Towers Watson support functions such as marketing, legal and finance

  • Assist in developing marketing materials



30-40% commitment to:


  • Support Pharmacy benefit projects including:

    • Pharmacy benefit plan analysis, design and cost savings strategies

    • Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) vendor procurement and negotiation

    • Audits of PBM performance (financial, operational and clinical)

    • Strategy and analytics for Specialty drugs



  • Partner with Consultants to deliver superior project management on select large client engagements

  • Serve as lead day to day contact for direct and Rx Collaborative clients; materially contribute to project plan creation and lead the team on delivery; ensure progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables and quality standards

  • Support the generation of new business by participating in prospecting opportunities with new clients as part of a broader team

  • Over time, there may be more time spent in client delivery or in product development.

The Requirements




  • BA./BS degree required in business or related field

  • 7+ years project/account management experience gained in a PBM or H&W consulting/brokerage firm

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, and Power Point

  • Well organized and detail oriented, accuracy in work product a must

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate

  • Natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with colleagues at all levels

  • Respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner

  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Sense of accountability; owning one’s work and taking pride in it

  • Be proactive, take initiative

  • Self starter; interest in continually challenging oneself and willingness to step outside of one’s comfort zone

  • Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape

  • Analytical and integrative skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way

  • Preferred experience with

    • Analytic tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.

    • Pharmacy pricing and/or underwriting

    • Development and/or maintenance of a formulary

    • Participation in P&T Committee
