Job Summary

The Talent Management Strategic Director role serves as a primary strategic partner. This role is a core member of the HR Leadership Team, Talent Management and Experience COE leadership team to connect company strategy to the talent strategy and corresponding areas within Talent Management & Experience are aligned and coordinated. This role collaborates with leadership across Talent Acquisition, Inclusive Diversity & Equity, Executive Succession and Development and Enterprise Leadership & Development leadership.  In addition, this role will partner with the SVP of Talent Management and Experience to lead and direct the strategic design, planning, and implementation of programs and processes, providing related industry expertise. They will create a multi-year talent strategy and ensure all areas of this COE is connected and coordinated as well as driving toward the HR and business priorities. This role demonstrates deep knowledge of business priorities, to drive business strategies through a holistic talent management strategy. Connects with other AORs to align on priorities to increase effectiveness within our organization. Provides expert consulting and support across the enterprise for specific initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates and/or contributes to Allstate Talent strategies, anticipating stakeholder needs aligned with business goals and priorities
  • Leverages analytics to support decision making on strategic direction and alignment with business and human capital priorities
  • Sets strategic and operational parameters for collaborative efforts/teams with and across functional boundaries
  • Takes an integrated approach to ensure initiatives align to the Talent and Employee experience leadership team
  • Demonstrates strong business knowledge, leadership, and general management skills
  • Drives results through the development of effective relationships
  • Provides support in removing or overcoming barriers to cooperative efforts with teams across functions

  • Provides expense recommendations to align with current and future expense plans
  • Gains alignment and support on initiatives from leadership
  • Interprets Allstate’s strategic vision into team priorities and objectives
  • Prioritizes and aligns existing and new initiatives to support changing business tactics
  • Sponsors and/or provides stewardship on initiatives
  • Actively seeks to connect resources across departments to share expertise when appropriate
  • Aligns and enables leadership efforts for continuous improvements

  • Leads and supports governance process
  • Develop, lead, implement and execute on strategic initiatives
  • Conduct ongoing analysis, in collaboration with COEs to guide Talent and Employee Experience SVP in strategy development and execution
  • Provide support for the office of the Talent and Employee Experience SVP relating to general administration, communications and other matters
  • Prepare internal/external presentations for senior leadership, coordinating with Corporate Relations as appropriate
  • Represent Talent Management and Employee Experience SVP as needed
  • Manage the business operations of the department (expenses, staffing, etc.)

  • Regularly interact with and influence senior leaders across the enterprise
  • Liaison with HR BP on execution of HR processes (succession, performance management, compliance etc.) and talent development strategies
  • Serve as a member of the Talent and Employee experience leadership team
  • Facilitate the ongoing action planning process; monitor and track all action plans and report progress on success metrics
Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 12 or more years of related experience

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software, SAP and HR Platforms preferred
