Job Responsibilities:

Sr. Ab Initio Developer designs, reviews and develops code for high complexity modules, participating in every stage of the software development life cycle. This position is for the support and enhancement of Ab Initio applications, including new code development and enhancements. It includes designing changes to applications, coding and testing those changes and supporting the quality control testing of the applications. It also includes incident/problem management and pro-actively identifying, addressing and monitoring any issues that occur in production environments.

Applicant should be able to:
•    Evaluate technical designs and data mapping documents, in partnership with architects, analysts and developers, based on user requirements.
•    Design/develop unit test plans & perform end-end testing.
•    Create, update and understand technical documentation.
•    Participate in code reviews, and test plan reviews.
•    Champion product quality all the way through the life cycle of the code.
•    Provide input in creating detailed ETL development estimates.
•    Collaborate across global time zones for product development.
•    Perform performance tuning on UNIX ETL and Oracle database environments.
•    Participate in Production Support as necessary. 

Must have:
  • 6+ years of hands on demonstrable development experience with Ab Initio (not concepts).
  • Hands on demonstrable experience with Oracle PL/SQL (not concepts).
  • 4+ yrs. of practical experience in UNIX.
  • 2+ yrs. operating within Agile product development
  • Demonstrated continuous learning.
  • Acts as a technical expert for Jr developers.
Bonus points:
  • Data lake (Working on Scality with Spark/Scala) experience.
  • Big Data platforms such as (HDFS, Scality)
  • Core Java programming experience.
