Job Summary:

Allstate Roadside Network team is looking for a talented Product Manager to lead a cutting-edge team focused on analytics and building APIs integrating with data models to optimize provider selection. In this role, the Product Manager will be responsible to lead design, experimentation and implementation that positively influence KPIs for provider selection. They are strong leaders within their domain and are proactively reaching out to current stakeholders to solve problems. They create a strong positive culture for the teams they guide and promptly remove blockers and impediments to the team's progress. This role will work across teams composed of JAVA engineers, data engineers, data scientists, architects and business clients to deliver products that the customers need.
 
Allstate Roadside Provider Network is the brain of network, driving rescuer selection and dispatch operations. This individual will work closely with product engineering teams, Allstate Roadside business, technology leadership and supporting teams to deliver upon key business initiatives and drive the long-term roadmap for the products they manage. Each product team operates as a self-directed entity that partners with the business to execute on the work using agile development practices. This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Manager responsibilities include: 

  • Create a positive, collaborative environment as a Leader of the product team(s)
  • Create the Product vision and convey the vision to the team (Voice of the Customer)
  • Create & Prioritize the features to deliver the vision according to the customer/business value (Voice of Definition)
  • Create and Maintain the vision in the Product Backlog
  • Independently test products to Accept/Reject the Sprint Work
  • Conduct/Lead Release Planning (includes defining the Minimum Viable Products)
  • Collaborate and Communicate with product stakeholders, end users and the product team
  • Take ownership of the product by being prepared to make timely decisions on product direction
  • Defines and quantifies value of deliverable work
  • Ability to iterate in partnership of data scientists to refine models that optimize severity
Job Qualifications
  • 3+ years of related experience with modern API microservices, data models and product management 
  • Expert communicator to both technical and non-technical team members with positive proactive energy
  • Ability to take business outcome objectives, collaborate with data scientists to develop the best in class models to be implemented by engineering teams
  • Expert facilitator at eliciting business, technical, and data requirement that meet the customers needs
  • Advanced systems thinking, data management, quality assurance and data flow skills
  • Data driven decision maker who blends sound business judgement with strong analytical thinking
  • Hungry for knowledge and understanding for both technical and business details
  • Independent thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Solid experience in time and task management
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
Functional Skills:
  • Skilled at making decisions and leading teams though high-pressure situations
  • Strong level understanding of agile methodologies (XP, Kanban or Scrum) 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s in a field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Data Architecture or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Agile story/feature backlog (e.g. JIRA, VersionOne)

Compensation offered for this role is $80,500.00-$134,800.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
