Third Party Harassment and Discrimination

Nuts & Bolts: Monoline third party harassment and discrimination coverage is being offered by Quadrant Insurance Managers. This product covers businesses for discrimination, harassment and wrongful eviction committed by an employee against a customer and/or member of the public. Small to mid-size businesses with high public/customer interaction such as hospitality, banking, restaurant, retail, higher education and health care are some of the targeted industries.

Dollars: $1 million aggregate. Minimum premium, $5,000.

States: Available in most states.

Small Businesses

Nuts & Bolts: Zurich is expanding the number of subclasses of businesses its small business division will underwrite to provide more diversified market opportunities for agents. An additional 188 subclasses are now eligible under Zurich’s core retail, office and service segments for insurance programs that include auto, umbrella and workers’ compensation.

Dollars: Up to $15 million.

States: All, except Hawaii.

Tech Firms

Nuts & Bolts: The Hartford has expanded the policy limits from $1 million to $2 million on its FailSafe MEGA product, a professional liability coverage for smaller technology firms and offered through the company’s Technology Practice Group.

Dollars: $1 million to $2 million. Minimum premium is $800.

States: Available in all states except Hawaii.

New Builder Construction

Nuts & Bolts: Abram Interstate Insurance Services Inc. in Rocklin, Calif., is offering a new owner builder course of construction policy in California. Coverage is written on a homeowners HO-3 Form. Builders Risk policies can be converted to a full homeowners policy upon completion.

Dollars: Coverage limits start at $300,000. Total insured value of more than $5 million is subject to approval.

States: California.

Carrier: Rated “A+,” XV. Non-admitted.

National Mining Program

Nuts & Bolts: Casualty & Surety Inc., a specialty MGA, has been granted underwriting authority for a new National Mining Program. CSI will write coverage for general liability, auto, property and inland marine. The program is available to all types of mining companies, including coal, aggregates and hard rock, mining for both surface and underground operations, as well as processing facilities.

Dollars: $1 million to $2 million. Property side can written up to $10 million per location.

States: All.

Carrier: Rated “A” FSC XV by A.M. Best. Admitted and non-admitted.
