Could it be true, is workers comp killing workers? Hmm? http://moelaw.com/blog/how-a-workers-compensation-adjusters-intentional-delays-killed-a-man/

In today’s market working with your Broker / Agent friend and using the same Broker for years without confirming competitive pricing is just not good business. In today’s market, it is highly important to evaluate ALL available options.

I didn’t see anything useful in this article or helpful, although the tie in to an injury resulting from a terrorist act was a new thought for me. I have done peer review, UR and case management for about 10 years and have my own views on the work comp system. Want to have an effect on prescription/use of opioids — make it mandatory to inform the DMV of everyone using more than three meds other than NSAIDs and any opioid and flag their license as they should not be on the road with you and me. Do that and watch how quickly people will wean. This should include everyone US congressfolks and CEOs. Want to reduce medical costs — get a handle on the case from day one not 3 years later when that bump on the knee turns into treatment for all the patient’s maladies. Try this: Give every injured worker a choice: $10K cash now or treatment (within-the-guidelines)for two years at which time they must be on their own.
