We are in the process of doing a total gut of our ranch home.. Contractor took it right down to studs… While project is being done we are living in our finished basement. Last night pipe burst and flooded our basement.. Have to wait for insurance to get back to us…Do you think this will be covered???

Please do not advise epoxy liner for galvanized piping without direct engineering involvement. Cleaning process for epoxy can make a pipe weaker and a burst would be blamed on the pipe, not the epoxy. Assuming that a correct installation can be assured (it cannot) the exact conditions that cause an epoxy liner to fail are precisely at the weakest sections of the pipe. Courting disaster – stop making this recommendation.
