Hylant Group, headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, promoted Tammy Vaughn Cameron to vice president, marketing and branding. Cameron joined Hylant Group in 2006 as director of marketing and public relations. In this role, she spearheaded numerous branding and marketing communications initiatives including: designing a new Hylant Group 75th anniversary logo and brand standards; developing a new Web site; creating cohesively branded collateral materials and sales tools; increasing brand awareness through regional advertising campaigns; and facilitating client and prospect relations.

St. Louis, Mo.-based Safety National announced that Stephen H. Cotnoir joined the company’s Large Casualty unit. His hiring coincides with the founding of Safety National’s regional underwriting office in Atlanta. A 25-year industry veteran, Cotnoir brings large account and casualty experience to Safety National. He joins the company from Arch Insurance Co., where he led its National Account Casualty division.

The Insurance Marketing and Communications Association (IMCA) elected Linda J. Collins as president of the association for a two-year term. Collins is vice president, corporate communications, at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Other appointed IMCA officers are: Executive Vice President Robert Martin, The Co-operators; Executive Vice President Madeline Johnson, The Cincinnati Insurance Cos.; Vice President Gary Kimball, Kimball Communications; Treasurer Krista Winters, American Modern Insurance Group; Past President Richard Look, Vertibrands; Past President at Large Reg Pierce, Bailey Brand Consulting; and Past President at Large Ron Rice, Association of Washington Cities.

Four new board members are: Sandra Collins of The Co-operators, Emily Hathcoat of CNA, John Coombe of Liberty Mutual and Lauren Knapp of Insurance Journal. Returning board members are: Mark Friedlander, Main Street America Group; Randall Clinger, SwissRe; and Thomas Wetzel,Thomas H. Wetzel & Associates Inc.

Juan Andrade stepped down as Commercial Markets president at The Hartford to join Ace as president of the insurers’ Global Personal Lines and Small Commercial Insurance division. He will assume the new position with Ace in December. Andrade joined The Hartford in 2006, after holding senior management positions with The Progressive Corp. He began his career at AIG.

The Hartford named Andrew J. Pinkes as Andrade’s temporary replacement. Pinkes currently serves as executive vice president for Consumer and Commercial Markets Claims at The Hartford, and as president of Heritage Holdings Inc., the company’s domestic and international P/C legacy operations.

J. Michael “Mike” Miley of Indiana-based Gibson Insurance Group was installed as chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”). Miley began his insurance career in 1973 and joined Gibson Insurance Group in 1983. He began his involvement with the association at the local and state level, serving as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana from 1995 to 1996. In 1997, Miley was elected to Big “I” national board of directors representing Indiana. He has twice been named Indiana Agent of the Year.

Columbus, Ohio-based Motorists Insurance Group announced changes to its leadership team.

Grady B. Campbell was promoted to senior vice president, Marketing Services and Personal Lines.

Mike Agan was named vice president, Personal Lines. He and Ralph W. Smithers Jr., vice president MAX Service division, will report to Campbell.

Randy Rudowicz will become vice president, Strategic Planning, Products and Services division.

Charles Stapleton has expanded responsibilities as senior vice president, Commercial Lines and Affiliate Operations.

John Kessler, vice president, Information Technology division, was named chief information officer for all companies in the group.
