Newport Beach, Calif.-based GCube named Al Caceres senior vice president of underwriting covering all renewables, and Michael Durning executive vice president of client relations and business development. Both will be based in the company’s New York office.

Durning was most recently vice president with AEGIS Insurance Services, where he was responsible for business development, member and broker relations and transmission and distribution line coverage. Previously, he held executive positions with Marsh, NEIL (Nuclear Electric Insurance and Conventional Underwriting) and the Hartford Steam Boiler’s HSB Energy Division. He started his insurance career with FM Global more than 20 years ago.

Caceres will lead GCube’s underwriting and management teams. He was most recently with AEGIS Insurance Services as a senior property underwriter, responsible for underwriting operational and construction projects for power and utility, oil/gas, petrochemical companies and renewable energy projects including wind, solar and ethanol plants. Previously, he worked at AIG – World Source Property and at Starr Technical Risks Agency Inc. He began his career at Marsh as a risk analyst in the Power and Utilities Division.

The Denver office of Lockton Companies LLC expanded its Lockton Denver Benefits Group with the addition of Michael Faughnan as an employee benefits consultant.

Most recently, Faughnan was the benefits practice and market leader for Aon’s Denver office. During his 12 years there, he was chairman of Aon’s Southwest Health and Welfare Practice Council and client leader for several major accounts. He started his career as a group life, disability, and health plan underwriter for a major insurance carrier.

Tracy Sandin joined the property/casualty insurance trade group American Insurance Association as its new vice president for state affairs and strategic planning.

Sandin’s career includes experience in both the public and private sectors, most recently with Intuit as senior manager for state corporate affairs based in Sacramento, Calif. Her work also includes 13 years of senior-level government affairs experience in the property/casualty insurance sector for Farmers Insurance Group and 21st Century Insurance. Sandin also previously served as director of California government relations for Atlantic Richfield Co. (ARCO), and she has held several positions within the California Legislature.

Great American Insurance Group’s Environmental Division added Pauline Saint-Pierre (formerly Lowe) in its San Francisco office. She joins Great American from Woodruff-Sawyer & Co., where she was vice president, account executive for environmental placements. Prior to Woodruff-Sawyer, she worked as a senior environmental underwriter with AIG Environmental. She brings more than 16 years of underwriting and broking experience to the team.

The New Mexico Senate confirmed Ned Fuller as director of the Workers’ Compensation Administration.

Fuller was nominated by Gov. Susana Martinez and began work Jan. 24 as the director designee.

Fuller, an attorney, worked for private law firms, primarily in Albuquerque, before being appointed as the Workers’ Compensation Administration’s assistant director in March 2000. He remained in that job until April 2001, then worked as a workers’ compensation judge from 2001 to December 2003.

Most recently, Fuller was staff counsel for The Hartford Insurance Co., handling workers’ compensation claims.

Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon Corp. named Joe Cafferelli managing director in the Phoenix, Ariz., office. Prior to joining Aon, Cafferelli was a senior vice president for nine years with Willis. He also previously held leadership positions with Marsh and AIG.
