Seven Arrests Made for Insurance Fraud

Seven New York individuals were arrested for their alleged participation in a variety of insurance scams which amounted to more than $100,000 in fraudulent claims.

Superintendent Gregory Serio along with Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon announced the arrests. Working with a number of agencies, Dillon’s office brought charges against four individuals for fraudulently claiming workers’ compensation benefits; a pair of individuals who allegedly defrauded the insurance companies where they were employed; and one individual for filing a false stolen property claim with her insurance company.

Serio proclaimed the arrests as a sign of victory for all New Yorkers who indirectly pay for fraudulent insurance claims through increased premium costs.
