The Delaware Senate passed House Bill #205, which authorizes the insurance commissioner to adopt regulations on consumer privacy consistent with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
Joseph Termini, associate counsel for the National Association of Independent Insurers, cautioned that regulators should apply a conservative approach in adopting privacy strictures and be careful not to go beyond the GLBA’s requirements.
