Penn. Agents Can Now Renew Licenses Online

Pennsylvania Governor Mark Schweiker and Insurance Commissioner Diane Koken announced that insurance agents and brokers in the state can now save valuable time by renewing their insurance licenses online.

“In the past, license renewals could take more than 14 days for mail-in processing,” said the PID’s announcement. “Now, a license can be renewed the same day using a credit card. Individuals must have their license number, social security number or employer identification number for an agency, and valid credit card to access the system. Individuals subject to continuing education must be compliant with their required hours to use the online renewal system,” it continued.

“Our goal is to make license renewals as simple and as friction-free as possible,” Commissioner Koken stated. “This service permits individuals who are compliant with continuing education requirements and who hold an active insurance license to process their current renewal online instead of mailing the renewal form and payment to the Insurance Department.”

“Licensed producers who wish to use this new service may log onto SIRCON at www.sircon.com,said the bulletin. “Individuals with questions regarding the status of their insurance licenses may call the Insurance Department’s Bureau of Producer Services at (717) 787-3840, or visit the PA PowerPort at www.state.pa.us, PA Keyword: “Insurance.”
