Selective Insurance Company of America Announces Promotions

Gregory E. Murphy, chairman, president and CEO of Selective Insurance Group, Inc., headquartered in Branchville, NJ, announced the promotions of Charles Adams, Bradford S. Allen, Andrew Becker, Jeffery F. Kamrowski, John Marchioni and Kevin Vieten to positions of increased responsibility.

Adams becomes vice president, Pennsylvania region manager of Selective Insurance, from interim Pennsylvania region manager. He joined Selective in 1987 in the commercial lines underwriting area. “One of the company’s first agency management specialists, he was promoted to field operations manager in 1998,” said the announcement.

Allen becomes senior vice president, information technology services, Selective Insurance, from vice president of information technology services. He joined Selective in 1996 as manager of the Glastonbury, CT information technology services office, and was promoted to vice president in 1998. Prior to joining Selective, he was a manager in information technology, responsible for personal and commercial lines underwriting systems with Aetna Property and Casualty.

Becker was named as assistant vice president, actuarial department, after serving as actuarial manager for Selective Risk Managers (SRM). He joined Selective in 2001 as an actuarial manager and is currently responsible for supporting SRM. Prior to joining Selective, he was an assistant vice president with Gerling Global Reinsurance Company of America.

Kamrowski becomes the senior vice president, business services unit, Selective Insurance. He was vice president, business services unit. His responsibilities include the implementation of company-wide automation projects. He joined Selective in 1988 as a programmer analyst. Before coming to Selective, he was a programming manager with Orange Systems in Warwick, NY.

Marchioni was promoted to vice president, director of government affairs and compliance, Selective Insurance, from assistant vice president, director of government affairs. He joined Selective in 1998 as a government affairs specialist and was promoted to department director in 2000. He is responsible for managing compliance, as well as regulatory and legislative matters impacting the company. Prior to joining Selective, he was vice president, government affairs with the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey.

Vieten was named assistant vice president of application architecture, Selective Insurance, after serving as senior technical architect. He joined Selective in 1996 as a senior software developer and has been serving as the lead information technology architect on a number of the company’s commercial business projects. Prior to joining Selective, he was a senior software developer with Aetna Property and Casualty.
