PIACT Names Nicholas A. Fanelli as Committee Chairperson of the Year

The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. presented Nicholas A. Fanelli, CLU, CPCU, CIC, owner and president of Raynard & Peirce Inc. in Canaan, with its Committee Chairperson of the Year award during the association’s annual convention held at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, March 18-19, 2003.

“This award honors the PIACT volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIACT’s committees,” said the announcement. “Fanelli was honored for his service as chair of the Industry/Technical Committee. He also serves on the association’s Political Action Committee and the Southeast and Southwest Advisory Councils.” He has been an active member of the CNA Agents Advisory Panel for which he serves as chair, and has “demonstrated the highest standard of excellence during his more than 40 years of experience in the industry.”

The bulletin noted that “His service extends beyond the insurance realm to his community, where he has served as a member of the Officer’s Club of Connecticut, and the Connecticut Association of Realtors. Fanelli is a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish and is on the Stewardship Committee. He is also a member of the Founders Circle of St. Joseph College. Fanelli was first appointed as civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army for Connecticut in 1995 and was re-appointed in 1997 and again in 2000. He served as Senior Advisor to the Reserve Officers Association of Connecticut and was appointed Civilian Aide At Large to the Secretary of the Army in 2002.”
