The McIntyre Group Finishes Strong 1stQ

May 1, 2003

New Jersey-based The McIntyre Group reported it completed a very successful first quarter in terms of revenue generation, new national accounts written and retention of existing business.

Despite the relatively flat economy, tensions in the Middle East and hard market conditions, the agency is considerably ahead of their business plan according to Tony McIntyre, president and CEO of The McIntyre Group (www.mcintyre-group.com).

The McIntyre Group’s annualized revenue ranks the firm in the top 10 percent of U.S. agencies in terms of annual revenue based on the ranking criteria used in the recently released 2002 Agency Universe Study Management Summary, published by the IIA’s Future One Group.

The first quarter’s biggest win was an insurance contract with one of the oldest and largest (top five in U.S.) law firms with over 1,000 lawyers and offices in 13 major U.S cities. Additionally, the company won contracts with one of Home Depot’s leading cabinet manufacturing vendors on the East Coast and with one of the largest public school systems in the United States for risk management consulting services. The company also reported that it had a 99 percent renewal rate on the Billing E&O Program for the healthcare industry.

“We have been fortunate to achieve such positive results in this business environment,” McIntyre declared. “We attribute most of the success to our growing and talented staff. The addition of industry veterans, Jackie Wegner, formerly with Chubb, and Debbie Schneider, formerly with CNA, over the past six months have added depth, experience and much needed specialty expertise in the areas of risk management consulting, compliance and customer service. Although he is deferring his start date due to the activation of his U.S. Army reserve unit for Operation Iraqi Freedom, we are looking forward to welcoming Major Grant Goldsmith in the near future. Grant, a West Point graduate, earned his Commercial Property & Casualty license while working as an account manager at a large, Mid-Atlantic insurance agency.”

According to Nan Weinberg, assistant vice president and director of Human Resources, “The McIntyre Group has expanded its employee base and continues to upgrade its staff’s professional credentials. Mark Pietropola, formerly with AIG, was recently hired as a member of our customer service department. Mark has just passed the Commercial Property & Casualty license examination. Two of our employees, Amy Ruple and Kelly Rodgers, just completed the PIA sponsored Insurance Training Program. Our company’s philosophy is to invest in our future through extensive industry training.”
