Nationwide Expands in Conn. With Rocky Hill Lease

Ohio’-based Nationwide Insurance is anticipating growth in Connecticut, and has taken steps to plan ahead. The national company has just signed a five-year lease with New Boston Fund for 46,000 square feet at 500 Enterprise Drive in Rocky Hill, Conn.

It’s planning to consolidate all of its operations in the State in the new offices.

“Central Connecticut is home to Nationwide’s New England State Operation which currently operates from offices in Farmington, Wallingford and Shelton. With our continued forecast for growth, we needed additional office space. The consolidation to Rocky Hill allows us to increase capacity and improve efficiency,” indicated Jim Shortley, Nationwide’s New England Vice President.

The bulletin noted that “In greater Hartford, Nationwide currently has 215 employees in 53,000 square feet of office space. Forecasted growth will add 30 additional positions over the next five years. Nationwide is expected to relocate to Rocky Hill by mid-Summer. The regional office will occupy most of the three-story building currently under construction. Nationwide Insurance is represented by CB Richard Ellis.”
