Penn National Partners with Rackley Systems to Provide Agents Web-delivered Rating; Sponsors Harrisburg Youth Program

Leading PA P/C insurer Penn National Insurance announced that it has made a partnership agreement with Rackley Systems, Inc., to bring its agents “a state-of-the-art .NET Web rating tool.” It also announced a $100,000 grant to support Harrisburg’s Youth Achievers Program.

“Provided as an additional feature of the company’s popular PennConnect®, which is the agency extranet of the company’s Web site (www.PennNationalInsurance.com), the new real-time Web rating product will allow Penn National Insurance agents to generate both personal and commercial quotes through the company’s Web site,” said the bulletin.

“The user will then have the ability to complete the corresponding applications online, eliminating the need for double entry. The new product is currently in production for BOP, Commercial Auto and Garage, Commercial Property, General Liability, Artisan Contractor Program, Commercial Umbrella, and Workers’ Compensation. Personal Auto and Homeowners are scheduled to follow.”

Bruce Winterburn, VP of Company Sales at Rackley Systems, stated, “This clearly illustrates Penn National Insurance’s commitment to their agents and the technology required to support them in today’s marketplace. We are proud to count them among the list of Rackley’s carrier partners.”

Sharon Marburger, director of internal operations within Underwriting Operations at Penn National Insurance, commented, “The agents seem to really like the Rackley product. It is easy to use, and having it as part of our PennConnect, the agents can quote anytime, anywhere. Since implementation, we have recognized a 100% increase in the agents’ use of the product, certainly meeting our expectations.”

In announcing its grant, Penn National said the local youth program is “designed for students in grades three through six that emphasizes the core values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty. Youth Achievers, sponsored by the Harrisburg YMCA, is part of the award-winning Black Achievers Program.”

Company President and CEO Dennis Rowe joined community leaders in congratulating the graduating class of Youth Achievers at a ceremony held at the Camp Curtin YMCA. “Our corporate philosophy has evolved over the decades to support urban education initiatives that make a meaningful difference in our community,” Rowe stated. “Youth Achievers is the embodiment of our belief in the character and potential of Harrisburg’s young people.”
